Background of the Organization

A grassroots non-profit dedicated to transforming attitudes, fostering economic self-reliance, and defending human rights across Nepal.

Our Inception & Purpose

Human Social Service Nepal (HSSN) aims to provide financial, social, and comprehensive development and service to disabled people, helpless orphans, and communities below the poverty line, minorities, and people living daily hardships.

Established in 2014 A.D. (२०७० B.S.), the organization has organized sustained advocacy, public awareness initiatives, free medical camps, skills development, and vocational employment trainings to change the negative social attitude towards people with disabilities in Nepal and to ensure a safe quality of life for the youth, Madhesi, tribal, Dalit, disadvantaged, and backward target communities.

Our Mission

To enhance the empowerment of individuals with disabilities and marginalized communities in Nepal by fostering economic independence, advocating for their right to a dignified life, and combating discrimination and societal stigma through diverse forms of institutional and grassroots support.

Our Vision

(HSSN) envisions a Nepal where persons with disabilities and marginalized groups are honored, empowered, and fully included as equal and valuable members of society.

Strategic Direction

Core Objectives of HSSN

Official mandate guiding all community programs, capacity-building workshops, and advocacy.

1. Obstacle Recognition

Recognize the obstacles encountered by individuals with disabilities, youth, Madhesi, tribal, Dalit, and other disadvantaged and backward target communities.

2. Free Health Camps

Conduct health camps and services to deliver healthcare directly to underserved communities.

3. Sustainable Income

Coordinate various initiatives focused on fostering the empowerment of people with disabilities (PWDs) and ensuring the establishment of sustainable income sources for them.

4. Advocacy & Policy Reform

Organized advocacy and lobbying endeavors to safeguard and establish the human rights of people with disabilities (PWDs), promote inclusive policy reforms, and facilitate substantial changes at the local level.

5. Skill & Vocational Training

Provide training programs for skill development and diverse economic empowerment initiatives tailored to uplift individuals with disabilities (PWDs), youth, Madhesi, tribal, Dalit, and other disadvantaged and backward communities.

6. Awareness & Sensitization

Coordinate awareness and sensitization campaigns on issues related to disabilities for all relevant stakeholders.

Impact delivered directly on the ground in Chandragiri municipality and surrounding areas.

Vocational Training Programs

Organized vocational training programs focused on incense making, sewing, and weaving in the Chandragiri municipality to generate income and achieve self-reliance.

Seed Capital for 15 Persons with Disabilities

Provided seed capital assistance to 15 persons with disabilities in Chandragiri municipality area who are doing and want to do different businesses under the community-based rehabilitation program.

Discussion & Interaction Program

Organized discussion and interaction program about disability with various stakeholders of Chandragiri municipality area.

Public Awareness Campaigns

Different types of public awareness programs have been organized from time to time with the aim of spreading awareness about disability.

Free 1-Day Health Camp

Organized a 1-day health camp in cooperation with other organizations with the aim of providing access to health services to the disabled people and general public of Chandragiri Municipality Ward No. 10 and Tokha area.

Administer and operate a transit facility for individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and other vulnerable individuals, offering temporary shelter during emergencies.

3. Disability-Inclusive Policies

Advocate consistently for the advancement of disability-inclusive policies and increased accessibility.

4. Income-Generating Activities

Provide skill development training and diverse income-generating activities to foster the economic independence of individuals with disabilities.

5. Entrepreneurship Development

Deliver training programs aimed at entrepreneurship development.

6. Peer Counseling & Mentorship

Establish and execute peer counseling and mentorship programs.

7. Emergency Relief and Logistical Support

Extend emergency relief and logistical support during crisis situations.
